Operation Weekend alooonnneee!!!

So it was a glooooorious weekend to say the least!! Mr.Luvuhh and I decided to go and have ourselves a weekend camping getaway just the two of us! (much needed since my dads in town) and on top of that his precious 7 year old and my sister, the all of us in one house... ouhhh lordy is it a packed house! We had an awesome time we went to Elk Lake a secluded camping area, we found a spot right next to the lake with a firepit already made, some firewood already there left by the previous campers (we left some extra stuff too for the next campers) ;) and even a log carved out into like a toilet seat.... (let's face it for most of us girls this is a pain when it comes to camping)

(((The beautiful Elk Lake)))

We settled in, roasted veggie dogs over the open fire, and enjoyed one, or two diet cokes and coconut rum... yummmmooo.... as we cuddled next to the fire listening to what I forgot the sound of, peace and quiet ;)

Day two of our fun adventure, we hiked.... and I mean HIKED. I loove to be active and one of my top favorite ways to get some cardio in would have to be hiking. It started pretty young when I would go hiking with my dad in the high desserts of California where I grew up. Nothing comes close to hiking in Oregon though! So as we make our way up a trail we found a sign that pointed to Battle Axe Mountain!!! (sounds epic and awesome right ;P ) Ouhh and believe me it was. Battle Axe Mountain showed us whos boss, with it's steep very very rocky terrain, this was REAL hiking and I loved every buttkicking, sweaty, sunburning second of it! Once we finally reached the top it was a view like no other, I wish I had brought my yoga mat, so peaceful and beautiful. We had to have been the highest peak because we could see everything!!

There was a few falls on the way down but well worth it! The rest of the day was nice and lazy as we cherished our last night of the quiet. What a fun weekend it was but definitely missed my teeny yogini ( Mr.Luvuhs beautiful daughter) and can't wait to go camping with her in a couple weeks!!

Updating from the past.... what week?! it's been that long?!

So I have been super busy this week! With working my nanny job than heading to the gym after work pretty much everyday the last thing I wanted to do was sit in front of the computer writing about how busy I am and tired (don't get me wrong, I'm so the love to be on the go girl ;P) But here I am to update you a bit about my marvelously busy week. :)

So Sunday was the Portland Shamrock 5k run. OMG it was sooo much fun! My hip was in a lot of pain but I made it through it with my wonderful bf right there. (ok maybe he was ahead of me but I chalk that up to his loooong legs) No but I was so incredibly proud of him. He is not a big running fan, even though he's totally built for it but he wanted to run with me and support me which is a first in any relationship I have ever had, Im super lucky to have him :) Afterwards they were offering free beer and salmon clam chowder.... ummm uhhh ewww! After running a 5k there is no way I'd choose to fuel my body with that crap! So we headed over to Laughing Planet.

Yummmm... LP :)

So the rest of my week consisted of work, and working out! Not too eventful. Except on Monday I had made some cookies and brought lunch to Mr.Luvuh (the bf) at work. I had made some extra for one of his co workers who said they were the best cookies he's ever had... I think he also stated something about if he had to have a last meal my oatmeal raisin cookies would be apart of that ;) He's a smart guy buttering me up like that because it just makes me want to bake even more vegan goodies to bring to his co workers :)

Photobucket

Like maybe my margarita cupcakes or ice cream sundae ones :)

I'm going to start updating more often and start posting pics of my awesomeo meals and days and such. I just feel silly sometimes taking pictures of my meals if were out and about... last time I tried that Mr.Luvuh and the friends gave me funny looks, but that's all part of being a vegan yogini food blogger!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!
Love&Peace!

Just One of those days?

As I was sitting here, I'd say about an hour ago... eyes sore from crying munching on my comfort food of gluten free vegan banana bread (homemade and amazing might I say) topped with my favorite Dark chocolate peanut butter contemplating a nice big glass of red wine, and getting ready to write a probably very short blog entry about how this just was one of those not so great days.... you know, one of those days. But alas I received an awesome phone call from an amazing (extra emphasis on amazing) friend of mine that brightened my day.

Today I really learned that everything happens for a reason, maybe at the time it really hurts, and we don't know why it's happening but yes indeed when one door closes many many others have the opportunity to open. So I leave you with that sorry to make it so short but a glass of wine, and a comphy couch have my name ALL over it,ouhh And a much needed cuddled bf.

Goals, Dreams, and aspirations for the wonderful year of 2010

So I have written my own personal list when the new year came around of my goals for 2010, but I thought I would share some of the most important ones I had written down and how it's going.

- Run a half marathon (will be done in June wootz!)

- Run a marathon (In October ;P)
Mind you I have never really been a runner per say but have always wanted to, thought this would be fun and a great way challenge my body in a new way, although I haven't done too much training but that I'm planning on getting right on top of when I kick this stupid cold I have right now!

- Work on better eating habits
I use to struggle and continue to try and heal from an eating disorder so through yoga, meditation, and healthy vegan eating, I'm working on this every single day.

- Love myself!
I am who I am and that's all I'm ever going to be so take it or leave it!!

- Strut my hawt bod in a bikini this summer and be comfortable doing it!
No matter how tiny I was I never ever felt good about being in a bikini but I want to this year, and it's not how I look in one that matters it's how I feel that matters, and I'll be damned if I dont feel like a million bucks wearing a cute Victorias Secret two piece with 5 inch heels... ok money prob wont allow for that but at least a cute one from wet seal or forever 21 will do just fine ;)

- Cut out icky artificial flavors! (and High fructose corn syrup yuck!)
"Hello, my name is Gabby".... "Hello Gabby".... "And I am addicted to Diet Coke" Yes I am addicted to this aspartame carbonated crack, and still am trying to kick this habit. It will happen mark my words! This also goes for added sweet n low in my coffee and tea (my good friend would kick mah butt if she knew I was still using it!)

- Just let things go!
Something I'm really learning from my deepening meditation practice. If someone says something in a certain way, if someone says something without thinking (mostly guys do this...) Don't over analyze it. It's really caused a lot of mental anguish and I'm done with that.

- Cook a new dish every week
It's probably been more like every other week :P

- Teach yoga
Done and Done!! wha what!!

- Read more Chuck Pahlanuk books...
An amazing author who wrote Fight Club, Choke, Rant, and many others who I just recently learned lives right here in the Portland area!

- More organic fruits and veggies... :)

These are just a few of my goals for the year. I didn't want to put unrealistic goals, I also wanted to make sure this year would be full of positive thoughts, love, self realization, and self acceptance. This year I want to be healthy in mind body and spirit. I want to be the best I can be not only for myself but for the man I love with all my heart, the friends I love and don't know what I'd do without. All of which I consider my family.

So with that I leave you a quote I try to live by

"Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment."
